Wow, I’ve been busy the last week or so! I’ve been sewing away on the Christmas Cactus quilt, having set a goal of 4 blocks a night. It sounds like more than it really is. I have all of my squares and half square triangles cut and stacked, and I divided the pattern into 100 [...]

I’ve received several requests for a pattern for the Sister’s Choice quilt, so I added a PDF pattern to the free downloads at the right side of the page. This pattern is for a QUEEN size quilt, larger than the one I made for the show. Here it is in the larger size, in my [...]

I just added a couple of links to my quilting resources page. There are complete descriptions on that page, but the names sort of speak for themselves:

Thanks to support from several commenters (and a little challenge from Lisa!), I’m working on the Christmas Cactus quilt. I made a lot of progress today – all of the squares are cut out, and strips are cut for the half square triangles.
That’s 748 two inch squares, by the way. Now for the 152 half [...]

Mom finished the Pauline quilt, and I think it’s gorgeous. I need some help convincing her, though – she’s not thrilled with it. Here’s the front:
And the back:
I love the little bits of brown on the back, with all of that white!
Now, something to understand about my mom. She is a finisher (where I am [...]

So first, I’ve been without internet for three or four days because my modem died. I can’t believe how much a part of my life the internet has become! I bought a new one (Yikes!) and – woohoo! – I’m back.
Now for the important stuff.
I received an email several days ago from Andrea at Electric [...]

Okay, so that’s overstating a bit, but I AM making a quilt for our upcoming show. (Quick reminder – I work at a dinner theater/restaurant.) We’re doing Nunsense, and the show takes place on a borrowed Grease set. The bed (from the “Look at Me I’m Sandra Dee” scene) needed a comforter “or something.” I [...]

When I checked my stats this morning, I found a surge in hits – as in quadruple the normal number I’ve been seeing! The reason was that someone posted about my blog on a Yahoo Group called CyberQuilters. I joined the group to see what it was all about, and I’m really impressed with it [...]

Yesterday was a busy, busy day. We had our August quilting day with a record NINE people attending who either worked on projects or showed projects they had been working on. We’re still squeezing into the basement, so I apologize now for the less than stellar photos. Lighting isn’t great for photos, although I have [...]
