I’ve received several requests for a pattern for the Sister’s Choice quilt, so I added a PDF pattern to the free downloads at the right side of the page. This pattern is for a QUEEN size quilt, larger than the one I made for the show. Here it is in the larger size, in my [...]

Thanks to support from several commenters (and a little challenge from Lisa!), I’m working on the Christmas Cactus quilt. I made a lot of progress today – all of the squares are cut out, and strips are cut for the half square triangles.
That’s 748 two inch squares, by the way. Now for the 152 half [...]

Mom finished the Pauline quilt, and I think it’s gorgeous. I need some help convincing her, though – she’s not thrilled with it. Here’s the front:
And the back:
I love the little bits of brown on the back, with all of that white!
Now, something to understand about my mom. She is a finisher (where I am [...]

I have a couple of projects in the works. Actually, one is my mom’s project, but I designed it in EQ6 for her and then wrote out the pattern. It’s titled “Pauline” because Mom is making the quilt for an old friend named – you guessed it – Pauline. Mom’s actually making two quilts – [...]

Mom helped, of course. She added the borders and then the binding – you know, the stuff that you don’t want to do because it’s boring. She has a much better “finishing” gene than I do.
Not a lot of time to talk, so here are the photos – I’ll let them speak for themselves…
I quilted [...]

I worked on the Sister’s Choice quilt off and on today. I have a tendency to get sidetracked, so I’d work on it for a while, then get on the computer and tweak the ideas, then cut some fabric, then watch tv…
Anyway, the quilt has been modified slightly – there are only six blocks [...]

Okay, so that’s overstating a bit, but I AM making a quilt for our upcoming show. (Quick reminder – I work at a dinner theater/restaurant.) We’re doing Nunsense, and the show takes place on a borrowed Grease set. The bed (from the “Look at Me I’m Sandra Dee” scene) needed a comforter “or something.” I [...]

So I’ve (finally) made a decision on my Family Basket blocks fabric. I was having such a hard time because everything I pulled, while nice, didn’t jump out and grab me. Finally I decided to treat it as if I were making a quilt for someone else – something that I was going to give [...]

…aka, Family Quilting Day July 2009
Last weekend was our monthly quilting session and there is so much to show! A few months ago, I suggested a fabric challenge, like the Hoffman Challenge. I pulled several fabrics from my stash and we chose one as the challenge fabric. We could make anything we wanted as long [...]

As I’ve mentioned before, our family gets together, along with a few friends, once a month to sew and gab (or, as we sometimes refer to it, “stitch and bitch”). Last year we decided to do a Block of the Month featuring stars. Each month one of us chose a star block and I wrote [...]
